We want to love our children equally and be there for them no matter what. It can be absolutely heartbreaking when our kids tell us that we love one sibling more than them. In this episode we discuss the importance of communicating to your child. #parentingtips #parenting #activelistening

Here are two sample reels I created. The first takes a snippet of the Parents Survival Kit Podcast and the second is a brief reel that helps break the stigma on talking to someone about mental health issues.
Ever felt trapped with your emotions. We have all heard things from our friends and family like “Pray it away.”, “You’ll get over it.”, “Don’t think about it too much.”, etc. Sometimes, we may think “If I say this to my family or ask for therapy, I will be seen as weak, crazy, or just not having enough faith.”. While they may mean to say this in good spirits, it can sometimes just leave our emotions bottled up and not properly addressed. But, if you take the time to talk about what’s going on in your mind, it is a sign of strength as you are already making the first steps to recovery.
The pressures of our society can weigh us down as we may feel that we don’t measure up in some areas. When we recognize that there is something bothering us and we tell it to a counselor or to a person we trust, what weighs us down starts to loose power. With accountability, there is someone to help you walk through these emotions and other areas in your life. Just like if you were to have the cold or the flu, you would want to seek out help. Ultimately, it takes courage to to talk about your feelings, challenges, and mental health struggles and that is just the beginning of you overcoming those feelings.
You can show great strength in overcoming the battle that happens in the mind. Remember that there is nothing wrong in talking about it with a person you can trust. Let us break the stigma that surrounds mental health and strive to feel better!
